We are thrilled that Matt & Nat have selected Friends of the Earth Canada’s Let It Bee campaign to be featured in their 2016 Hope Charity Bag campaign. Upon purchasing one of these beautiful, vegan handbags, you can choose Friends of the Earth Canada as the recipient of the full purchase price to support our work to save the bees.

Matt & Nat, founded in Montreal, Quebec, has been committed to not using leather or any other animal-based material in their designs from the start. Over the years they’ve used a range of different recycled materials such as recycled nylons, cardboard, rubber and cork. Since 2007, they’ve been committed to using linings only made out of 100% recycled plastic bottles. They have also recently introduced recycled bicycle tires to their collections.

We’ve called on Canadians from coast to coast to coast to show their love for bees – to help create safe habitat with bee-safe flowers, to play their part as citizen scientists in taking a census on wild bees, to tell politicians to protect wild bees at risk and to take action to ban bee-harmful neonicotinoid pesticides.

And now, Matt & Nat is offering another way to help. For their 2016 Hope Charity Bag campaign, 100% of the purchase of their non-leather Hope bag will be donated to the designated charity. Of course we urge you to pick Friends of the Earth Canada from among 7 charities – you’ll get a great bag and you help save the bees.  What could be better?
