There is no compromising with climate change. All the science tells us fossil fuels must be phased out without delay. The federal government failed to live up to its commitment to act on climate change by approving the Kinder Morgan and Enbridge Line 3 bitumen pipelines.

Both pipelines will facilitate the further production of fossil fuels which will be burned contributing to climate change while depriving the Canadian economy of significant investment in the green economy.

The Kinder Morgan TransMountain pipeline will vastly increase tanker traffic in Vancouver harbour and off the British Columbia coast threatening devastating spills that can’t be cleaned up.

Friends of the Canada urges all Canadians to voice their disapproval of this decision by the federal government.
