Roundup is now 45 times more toxic! ⚠️

Bayer has reformulated Roundup, making it significantly more harmful to human health and the environment.

🚫 This is a dangerous move by a company with a long history of prioritizing profits over people.

We need to #RejectRoundup and demand safer alternatives. 🌱

Why is this a big deal?

🔴 Roundup is a popular weed killer used by millions of people around the world.

🔴 Bayer pledged to remove glyphosate from residential Roundup following tens of thousands of lawsuits linking the product to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and replaced it with combinations of four chemicals, two of which are banned in the EU (diquat dibromide, fluazifop-P-butyl, triclopyr, and imazapic)

🔴 It’s being sold in nearly identical packaging, so consumers are unknowingly exposing themselves to higher risks.

🔴 The US EPA is allowing Bayer to get away with it.

What can we do?

👉 Stop using Roundup

In the Mathur vs. Ontario case, FOE intervened to argue that the court’s analysis should be guided by international law, including the precautionary principle, ecological sustainability, intergenerational equity, and environmental justice. The Ontario Court of Appeal emphasized in its decision that the application of international environmental law to the youth’s Charter claims is an important issue to be addressed at the new hearing.

The science is clear: we need to significantly red

The science is clear: we need to significantly reduce emissions in the next decade to prevent catastrophic climate change.

In 2019, seven youth represented by @Ecojustice_ca and Stockwoods LLP took Ontario to court for weakening its emission reduction target, arguing that the move undermined their and other young Ontarians’ Charter rights to life, security of the person, and equality in the face of climate change.

Today, the top court of Ontario sided with them. 🎉🎉🎉

A new hearing has been ordered and Ontario will have to answer for its record as a climate laggard.

In the meantime, we applaud the seven brave young people who are bravely standing up for their future and thank them for continuing to push forward with all the urgency the climate crisis demands.

“Today’s decision confirms that when Ontario sets a climate target, that target has to respect the Charter. That means Ontario’s target – which the court found to be severely deficient and causing harm to Ontarians – should be set according to science and informed by principles of international law.”
