There’s a way to help Friends of the Earth while doing something positive for the environment and your company.
Through our newest fundraising initiative, environmentally responsible companies can turn their old computers and other IT assets (which might otherwise simply be thrown away) into a green charitable act that helps Friends of the Earth continue our vital work.
We are working with Compugen, one of Canada’s largest, privately owned and operated IT service providers, on this unique charitable opportunity which has benefits for you, Friends of the Earth, and most importantly, the environment.
Here’s how it works:
Through its program, Compugen will assess your company’s aged IT assets, then refurbish and recycle as appropriate, and remit net proceeds to Friends of the Earth’s Green Circle Fund. We anticipate that up to 90 per cent of disposed assets can be re-used while generating environmental benefits. Friends of the Earth promotes the 3 Rs: reduce, reuse and recycle, and with this program, we will increase reuse of electronics and reduce pressure on landfills. And there you have it: a remarkably simple way to contribute to Friends of the Earth and your community while taking care of end-of-life electronic items in an environmentally responsible way.
To test this innovative charity program, Compugen has already provided this service for TD Bank, Osler Hoskin Harcourt LLP, Royal Sun Alliance, and many others – generating significant dollars for charities. Executive level references can be provided.
Friend of the Earth will provide tax receipts upon request to donor companies.
