On June 9, 2015, the government of Ontario published a new regulation to reduce the use of corn and soy seeds treated with neonicotinoid pesticides in the province. This move to reduce the use of neonics by 80% by 2017 makes Ontario the first jurisdiction in North America to regulate restrictions on the agricultural use of neonics.

beerectangleJoin us in saying THANK YOU to Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, Minister of the Environment and Climate Change Glen Murray and Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Jeff Leal for making this important first step to protect Canadian pollinators. We look forward to seeing more Canadian provinces and municipalities taking action to reduce the use of these bee-toxic pesticides.
