Thank you for taking on this initiative.

I would like to add ...
At the Cohen Commmission, Dr. Kibenge identified the equipment /software used by the CFIA's DFO Moncton lab and a 'lack of sensitivity' as a possible explanation for the CFIA being unable to confirm other labs 'positive' test results. Source ... www.cohencommission.ca - transcript from Dec 15 2011 41:33 - 44:15 and Exhibit 2034

My questions are:

1. has the CFIA investigated this aspect of its own lab's performance?
2.could this be included in an independent investigation?

I agree whole heartedly with the request to have Auditor General of Canada and the Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development conduct an investigation of the CFIA's move to silence a highly reputable scientist, Dr. Frederick Kibenge, who runs a lab that is one of two labs in the world recognized for its ability to detect ISA in fish. This is a blatant and crass attempt to silence another scientist who is capable of bringing out the truth based on cutting edge science. If this type of unethical action is not curbed, Canada will suffer a bad reputation in the global community and we will have once again compromised our ability to protect a most valuable BC resource - wild salmon. Dr. Kibenge's lab, together with his esteemed and internationally recognized qualifications, are far superior to what the CFIA has to offer. It is obvious that the CFIA is smacking from being embarrassed by Dr. Kibenge's testimonies in the Cohen Commission inquiry. This is the real reason why the CFIA is going after Dr. Kibenge. The investigation into the CFIA's attack on Dr. Kibenge needs to be open and transparent.

1.Is this petition one that others may sign onto as well?
2.Would it be of benefit to petition the OEI?

Thank you for initiating this!
